Excerpts from:
The Times Union
Sunday, April 21, 1985
Viewers tired of the new generation's unruly disregard for traditional
technique may find relief in Nancy Depew's subtly erotic female nudes
which recall the fetishist perfections of such 19th-century masters as
Gerome or Bougereau. Far from empty rendering exercises, however, Depew's
pictures are infused with an odd sexual suspense, as in one untitled
picture in which a nude blonde crouches in the corner of an empty room
and gazes alertly to the left as though in anticipation of an as-yet-invisible
intruder.
